ANSI Univ Outreach
The ANSI University Outreach Program, a pilot program of the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) makes available complimentary copies of International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) standards to individual professors for use in their classrooms. Participants in the program will also have access to members of the U.S. standarization community who can provide case studies, model tutorials, and other educational resources.
The program is open to all disciplines. It is available to faculty only. Click on the link above for details.
Searching for Standards
There are many available standards and many organizations promulgating them. The Library cannot collect every current standard, but you can use the links below to identify needed standards and then ask us to try to acquire a copy for you. Please consult with a librarian for more information about identifying and obtaining any specific standards you need for your research or teaching.
Note that one of the main collections of standards available in the Brown Library is that from the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM). At present, the most current edition of these standards is available only in print format in the Library's Reference section under the call number TA401.A653. Older editions are located in the Library's general book stacks.
