U.Va. Accounts

The University of Virginia has many accounts that you'll want to have.   Here are a few which will be important for research and library use.

Library account - As a U.Va. student or faculty member you will automatically get a Library account.  Your U.Va. ID is your library ID for in-person checkouts.  All online transactions use your computing (email) ID.

Refworks  - Refworks is web based software that will help you organize your citations and resources.  You set up an account and then you can save citations for articles and books there.  If the citations have a Find article @ UVa Libraries button it will work in Refworks to link you to the full text of the article.  See our Refworks page for more information.

InterLibrary Services (ILS)  Request System - You must have an ILS account set up in order to request to borrow books from other libraries on interlibrary loan.  You also need an ILS account in order to request material from Ivy Stacks.

Eservices - This is the basic account at U.Va. which allows you to log into any comptuer on Grounds.  It sometimes happens that you might forget your Eservices password.  Changing your password from this page just pick "Eservices" and login using your U.Va. email ID and password.  This will walk you through resetting your Eservices password.

Proxy or UVaAnywhere - Proxy and UVaAnywhere allow U.Va. faculty, students and staff to use our resources from off-Grounds.  Proxy is a bit simpler since it doesn't require any software to be loaded on your computer - just a bit of configuration of your internet browser.  UVaAnywhere has the advantage of allowing access to ISIS and other systems.
