Research Funding Discovery Tools and Databases
A number of funding discovery tools are listed in the section below. First, here is a presentation on the funding discovery tools Pivot and GrantForward.

- Pivot-RP
Pivot is a funding discovery tool, available to all UVa faculty, staff, and students. It has a large database of funding opportunities. Similar to GrantForward, but offering search results that don't always overlap with GrantForward, it is useful to use both of these tools when searching for funding opportunities. To access: Pivot is a UVa subscription; accessible through Netbadge. To login, Click on "Log In" and choose "Access via My Institution Login" - you will then be directed to sign in using Netbadge. Do not select "Sign Up"; you already have an account via Netbadge.
- GrantForward
GrantForward is a funding discovery tool, available to all UVa faculty, staff, and students. It has a large database of funding opportunities. Similar to Pivot, but offering search results that don't always overlap with Pivot, it is useful to use both of these tools when searching for funding opportunities. UVa subscription; create your own account (using your virginia.edu email address) to gain access to all features. - Foundation Directory Online
This database features contact information on grantmakers in the U.S. including private foundations, community foundations, grantmaking public charities, and corporate giving programs. Also offers IRS 990 forms of foundations. To acces: UVa Subscription, simply click on the link above. Access is only available via the proxy server. - VPR Grant Funding Opportunities Page
UVA VPR Office Grant Funding Opportunities Page. In addition to the list of funding opportunities, you can also find the following for each opportunity: a list of recent awards from the opportunity, a list of PIVOT keywords, and a word cloud from the full text. - Grants.govGrants.gov is the primary source for finding U.S. government grants. NOTE: Only the UVa Office of Sponsored Programs is authorized to submit proposals via Grants.gov.

- Grant Advisor PlusThis site includes a monthly update of grant announcements in many subject areas plus backfiles. Library subscription. Please access On Grounds or through UVa Proxy account.
- Economic Research InstituteOffers copies of IRS Form 990 for non-profit organizations. Free.
