(1) Slave Schedules (Slave Censuses)  are filed at the end of the regular county schedules for 1850 and 1860. Reels 332-334 and 303-304, respectively. Acesss slave schedules online through Ancestry Library Edition Census Search:

On the Ancestry Library Edition  homepage, scroll down until you see links to censuses by year. Choose 1850 or 1860. Next screen: scroll down to the related data section of the sidebar and choose the US Federal Census Slave Index link.   This will take you to the search page for this collection, or you can browse by state/county using the drop-down menu in the sidebar.  Note: These lists often only recorded individuals by their sex, age, and enslaver's name.  Some census enumerators did include personal names, but it varies by location.
