Find Articles and Meeting Papers

  • Find articles in scholarly and/or peer-reviewed journals
  • Find articles in magazines, newspapers, and trade publications
  • Find papers from conferences and meetings
  • Register for and request articles and papers through Interlibrary Loan

Find Journals 

  • Look for journals by title and format.
  • Find a known item via Citation Lookup. 

Find Books and Dissertations

  • Search for print books or electronic books (e-books)
  • Find UVA Dissertations and Theses, as well as those from other institutions
  • Register for and request books and dissertations through Interlibrary Loan

Find Research Data Help

  • The Research Data Services Team is ready to help you with your research data questions.

Get Full Text Article Access

  • Add the LibKey Nomad browser extension for one-click access to full text articles. 
  • Use Interlibrary Loan to access materials not currently in our collection. 

Organize and Cite Sources

  • Use Zotero - a free citation management software.

Getting Started using UVA Library for Biology Research: 

 

  • Use VIRGO to search within our collection, make requests, find and create course reserves, organize and share bookmarks, and set personal preferences for your own use of the system. Sign in using NetBadge.
  • Install LibKey Nomad to gain one-click access to articles and other materials we subscribe to.  
  • Register for an ORCID. If you already have an ORCID, update it to reflect your new UVA Affiliation. 

  • How to Get Started with a UVA LabArchives account

    To protect and manage research data at UVA, and help comply with funding requirements for government agencies, UVA now has a university-wide license to LabArchives.
