Although the library does not as a general rule purchase those textbooks used specifically and exclusively for classroom use (per this policy), it does purchase many titles that are required or recommended readings for courses across the curriculum. Our ebook collections are particularly relevant for classroom use.

Search Virgo:

The Library also subscribes provides access to an extensive collection of online tutorials on a vast array of topics through its subscription to inLearning.  Students can gain expertise in specific areas and technologies without having to take a course in the subject, or in conjunction with a course in which they're enrolled. 

Coming soon:  Beginning in fall 2022, in partnership with VIVA, Virginia’s academic library consortium, the University of Virginia Library will be able to provide some electronic textbooks as part of the Curriculum Driven Acquisitions Program. The program works by analyzing bookstore lists and acquiring unlimited access e-books wherever possible.
