Welcome Distance Education students!
You can request books from our Halloween pop-up library to be sent straight to your mailbox! This is a free service through the UVA Library.
Register your account and verify your address:
- Sign in to your VIRGO account using your Netbadge credentials. You will be prompted to create an account if this is your first use. (Check out our tutorial for step-by-step instructions.)
- On the New User Registration page, choose 'Distance Education Student/SCPS' as your status type
- Read instructions at the bottom of the ILLiad account registration form under Users who live outside Charlottesville /Albemarle County area. Also, please be sure to list a “secure” address, where packages of books may be left if you’re not home.
To request books:
- To request a book, click on the book you wish to rent from our list. Then click on the virgo record for the book.
- After viewing the details of your selection, click the blue 'Request item button'. You will be prompted to sign in or create an account, if you haven't already. Select 'LEO delivery to my department' and then click Place Hold. The LEO delivery service fulfills distance education mailing.
