  • This archive aims to preserve for researchers the personal and official websites belonging to notable contemporary Latin American and Caribbean artists, artists’ collectives, artists’ groups, galleries, museums, and related entities

Documents of Latin American and Latino Art

  • An initiative dedicated to the recovery and publication of primary source materials and critical texts related to Latin American and Latinx art. From the International Center for the Arts of the Americas at the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston.

Journals/Magazines

Latin American and Latinx Visual Culture [English]

  • A quarterly, peer-reviewed journal dedicated to publishing the most current international research on the visual culture of México, Central America, South America, and the Caribbean, as well as that created in diaspora. 

ArtNexus [Español and English]

  • Founded in 1976 in Bogotá, Colombia, ArtNexus expanded its focus in 1991 and is now a leading magazine covering the contemporary art of Latin America.

Confluencia [Español and English]

  • Publishes scholarly articles and notes in Spanish and English. Highlights include: 1) articles and essays dedicated to enhancing our understanding of the aesthetic and cultural expression of the diverse Hispanic communities, including those with strong base in prehispanic and African traditions, 2) comparative studies of literatures, 3) comparative studies of other art forms, 4) interviews with outstanding figures who have made an impact on the study, expression and promotion of culture and literature. Creative writing is also included.

  • On September 19, 2017, a powerful 7.1 earthquake shook Mexico for about 20 seconds causing extensive damage in the Mexican states of Puebla, Morelos and Mexico City. The town of San Gregorio Atlapulco was one of the most devastated communities in Mexico. This documentary explores how community workers use art and poetry to help children cope with the trauma of the earthquake.
