Music

For known items:

• Using the Advanced Search option in Virgo, search by composer name in the Author field and/or composition title in the Title field.
• Limit format by Musical Score or Sound Recording.

For unknown items:

• Choose "Musical Scores" or Music Recordings" in "Resource Types" found to the left of the Virgo search bar. Do not put any text into the box before you click on "Search." This will bring up all musical scores or recordings.
• If you are only interested in locating music from a specific era (i.e. 20th Century or 21st Century) use the "Composition Era" facet on the left side of the page.
• Refine your search using more facets (instrumentation, format, region) or keywords in the search bar. 
• You can also order your results by "Date published - newest first" to find the most recently published scores or recordings. However, be aware that some recently published scores or recordings may be of older compositions.
