The DEAF bibliography is the key to French medieval literature, fulfilling a number of functions. The first is to provide bibliographical data for all the sources cited in the DEAF. The second is to give a substantive and qualitative characterisation of these sources, particularly of the primary sources. The third is to provide the users of both the dictionary and the bibliography with further-reaching information, e.g. the identification of the manuscripts, the dating and localisation of the texts and manuscripts, cross-references to the most important bibliographical handbooks and the abbreviations in neighbouring dictionaries.

Le Dictionnaire étymologique de l'ancien français (DEAF) jette les bases scientifiques, tant philologiques que linguistiques, de l'ancien français. Il embrasse la période allant de 842 jusqu'au milieu du 14e siècle. Les articles sont classés par ordre alphabétique et contiennent les mots groupés par familles étymologiques. Les travaux se font en partant de principes philologiques stricts (Ad fontes!). Pour en savoir plus, veuillez lire notre présentation succincte. Le dictionnaire se fonde en principe sur toute la littérature écrite en ancien français telle qu'elle est répertoriée dans le Complément bibliographique. La publication se fait en ligne dans le DEAF électronique, ainsi que sous forme imprimée par livraisons de 192 colonnes. The collections of the National Library of France house tens of thousands of manuscripts whose decoration comprises one of the richest painting collections in the world. Through their wide variety and iconographic interest, these images also make up a veritable visual encyclopedia of their time. Growing continuously, Mandragore now has over 170,000 records analyzing works held in the Department of Manuscripts and the Library of Arsenal, the oldest of which date back to Pharaonic Egypt and the most recent from modern times . "Manuscripts of Medieval France with Vernacular Texts", is a collection of over 1200 links to manuscript facsimiles, and with these, nearly all of the French medieval literary canon. This in admittedly small in comparison with the total number of medieval manuscripts available on line. The project's truly medieval texts will show that France was linguisticly diverse enough to call into question some of the myths we have entertained about early French expression. Often privately printed due to newspaper censure by the monarchy, the pamphlets were used to disseminate information and ideals concerning nationalism, citizenship, personal freedoms, and social injustice.

The Medieval Academy of America is the largest organization in the United States promoting excellence in the field of medieval studies. It was founded in 1925 and is based in Boston, Massachusetts. The academy publishes the quarterly journal Speculum, and awards prizes, grants, and fellowships. The Medieval Academy supports research, publication, and teaching in medieval art, archaeology, history, law, literature, music, philosophy, religion, science, social and economic institutions, and all other aspects of the Middle Ages.

International Medieval Society-Paris is a non-profit association that welcomes international scholars of the Middle Ages in France and promotes international exchange with French colleagues. To this end, the IMS organizes monthly apéritifs in which scholars present their research projects for discussion as well as an annual three-day international symposium on a designated theme every June. Founded in 2003, the IMS has quickly grown both in size and in scope as it now counts art and architectural historians, historians, musicologists, and literary scholars from ten different countries among its members. In 2009, the IMS became officially affiliated with the Laboratoire de médiévistique occidentale de Paris (LAMOP) of Paris I-Sorbonne. The International Medieval Society-Paris is a cooperative association that relies on the participation of its members to realize its goals.

Founded in 1954, the Society for French Historical Studies promotes scholarship focused on the history of France from the medieval era to the twenty-first century. The Society also champions research into history beyond France itself, to include the hexagon’s historical relationships with the rest of the world, including North America, Africa, and Asia, as well as other societies on the European continent.
