The Scholars' Lab, located in the Main Library, is the home of the UVa Geographic Information Science (GIS) support group.  We support all UVa affiliates in four basic areas of GIS: software, data, consultations, and education.

Spring Virtual GIS Workshop Series

This Spring, we'll be covering ArcGIS Online, a powerful cloud-based GIS platform, and alternative - in many cases - to ArcGIS Pro. Sessions begin on 1/31 will be taught on Wednesdays from 2PM to 3PM.

ArcMap Access Ending

ArcGIS Desktop will be removed from Education Program licenses on July 1, 2024. This means we will not longer be able to provide licensing for ArcMap starting July 1st. We strongly suggest all users migrate to ArcGIS Pro as soon as possible. See this announcement for more information.
