Currently, there are unreferenced images from 1937, 1957, 1966, 1974, 1980, and 1990. For 1996 and 2000, there are unreferenced images and more detailed georeferenced images for use with GIS. Aerial photos from around the country, some as old as 1930.

The Small Special Collections Library houses a small collection of aerial photographs. These maps include 1957, 1966, and 1974 editions of 1:20,000 scale maps of Albemarle County, Virginia with photo indexes, as well as photo indexes of other counties in the Commonwealth. An index to the photos is available.
