Getting Help with Research Data
At UVA Library, researchers across disciplines benefit from expert consultation and training in acquiring, collecting, wrangling, analyzing, visualizing, sharing, and preserving research data. Our staff work to advance data science, using data to answer scientific questions, making analysis reproducible, and promoting open data to enable long-term discovery and knowledge.
- Research Data Services WorkshopsThe UVA Library Research Data Services group offers training on data analysis, statistics, and computation and on Library resources and methods. We offer workshops covering R, Python, Git/GitHub, command line, LaTeX/Overleaf, Tableau, and others.

- StatLabOffering consultations, collaborations, and training in wrangling, analyzing, visualizing, and computing with data and work with faculty, students, and staff across disciplines. We have expertise in a range of common data tools and technologies, including R, Python, Stata, SPSS.
- Scholars' LabThe Scholars' Lab is UVA Library's community lab for the practice of experimental scholarship in all fields, informed by digital humanities, GIS and spatial technologies, and cultural heritage thinking.
- Libra Data powered by DataverseLibraData is a place for UVA researchers to share data publicly, and is part of the Libra Scholarly Repository suite of services which includes works of UVA scholarship such as articles, books, theses, and data.
- Health Science Library Data ServicesData Services at the Health Sciences Library (Data @ HSL) provides a central location to find biomedical data and statistics training opportunities and data consultation services for Health System faculty, staff, and students. This is your best bet if you are on the medical side of UVA.
