Getting Started

How to Use this Guide

The purpose of this guide is to help STS students become oriented to academic research and using the UVa Library.

As a result, this guide contains a wide variety of information that will link you to resources and provide further instruction.

There are three sections to the guide -


These pages contain a variety of information on getting acquanted with STS mateials as well as additional instructions, graphics, videos, and examples for common research and citaiton challenges.


These pages contain information specfically related to STS class including general research and assignment based information.


These materials are each designed to assist in finding specific types of information and include information about each type of resource, links to library materials and tools as well as links to open access tools found online.
