This guide outlines some resources available for studying and understanding the Hurricane Katrina disaster.

Statistical Data Services

You may wish to support or augment your research for Katrinasim with some statistical data.  In the library statistical data is primarily handled from the Scholars' Lab on the 4th floor of Alderman Library.  They are also able to help you find and use online and printed maps.  And they can assist you in using and creating maps utilizing GIS (Geographical Information Systems) information.  You should be sure to pay the Scholars' Lab a visit during the course of your research!

You may also find statistical software and GIS assistance in the Research Computing Lab in the Brown Library.  This lab is oriented more towards the computational aspects of data collection and use, but its staff are also able to work with you in finding and using statistical data of various kinds.
